Just got back from Red Rock. It's 100 degrees back there. We went to the upper-most swimming hole. The water had to be around 75 degrees. Felt so good.
We saw turtles and small fish. A heron flew overhead. It was quiet, peaceful and clean. Then we hiked out.
I couldn't believe how many people were out at Red Rock today! It's like how I remember it being back in high school. Absolutely jammed with cars and people. Nothing wrong with that, but why are they such pigs?
Number one rule when visiting the forest is "pack it in, pack it out." Plastic cups, plastic silverware, and billowing plastic bags in the creeks is not good. Nobody wants to swim in somebody else's garbage. So please be polite and take your trash home with you, or find a Dumpster (there are some in the day use and parking areas) and toss it in there.
Thanks for listening.
